Tips for getting the most out of the Career Expo

  • Prepare your resume: have it reviewed, proofread, and critiqued so that it’s perfect (no errors!). Print multiple copies on resume paper
  • Research the companies/organizations who will be attending the event so that you can communicate intelligently with the recruiters
  • Prepare your “personal commercial.” Be ready to give company recruiters your “30-second commercial” on who you are, your experience, and your career goals
  • Be ready to ask pertinent questions to recruiters
  • Practice responses to sample interview questions
  • Go to the event! When you arrive, pick up a copy of the Expo booklet and review the floor plan of exhibitors so you’ll know where each company and organization is located
